At present, opportunities are available to study demography for a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D) or for a Master of Philosophy (MPhil). Examination of the Master's Degrees is by thesis alone.

• International and internal migration 
• Statistical demography 
• Demographic aspects of the status of women 
• Applied and business demography 

Recent topics for postgraduate research include: 

• The effects of wealth on fertility in Sri Lanka 
• Reproductive health in the Philippines 
• The demography of education in New South Wales

The Demography program also offers a unit in Demographic Analysis in Business as part of a Master of Commerce in Business (MCom) or as part of a Master of International Business coursework degree.
