Profile
Angie joined the Department of Business at Macquarie University in 2004. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Melbourne , in the Department of Management. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelor's degree in Science (Honours) and a Master's degree in Commerce (Honours) at the University of Melbourne .
Angie lectured at the University of Melbourne for a number of years within the Department of Management. She has also lectured at the University of New South Wales and at the Australian Defence Force Academy in the School of Business.
Teaching Interests
Angie teaches Human Resource Management subjects at the undergraduate level. In the past, she has also taught at the postgraduate level.
Professional Affiliations
Angie is a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management (ANZAM) and the International Employment Relations Association (IERA). She is also a member of the Asia-Pacific Researchers in Organisation Studies (APROS).
Community Activities and Affiliations
Angie reviews both manuscripts and books for publications such as the Journal of Industrial Relations , the International Employment Relations Review and the Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources .
In the past, Angie has spoken at industry forums regarding her research examining the impact of equal employment opportunity legislation in the workplace.
Major consultancies in recent years
Angie has been involved with consultancies focused on aligning the working time preferences of employees and employers at ANZ and Qantas. She has also conducted several studies at Qantas analyzing the inception of semi-autonomous work groups and organisational change programs. A separate consultancy with the Victorian Department of Human Services involved examining employees' perceptions of work involvement and participation.
Awards and Achievements
During the past three years, Angie has received the University of Melbourne , Dean's Award for Outstanding New Lecturer, and in the following year, the Dean's Certificate for Excellence in Teaching.
Angie has been awarded competitively based research grants at both the University of Melbourne and the University of New South Wales . Her research has also been nominated for the University of Melbourne Chancellor 's Prize for Excellence in the Ph.D. Thesis.
