Administrative Advice
For administrative advice relating to your studies you can contact the Student Peer Advisers at ERIC who will provide a first port of call for general enquiries, explain how important administrative processes work in the Division of Economic and Financial Studies; assist with the reading and understanding of the University Handbook and Timetable and will identify the right person to see for more help and information.
Academic Advice
Why seek academic advice?
The Department of Business encourages students to seek academic advice at least once during the course of their study. As a general rule, you are required to follow the degree rules set out in the Undergraduate Handbook of the year you first started your degree. The Suggested Program of Study produced by the department for each intake provides useful information to help you plan your study and complete your degree on time.
However, because of the flexibility of our programs, it is your responsibility to manage your own degree and make sure you are “on track”. Academic advice is available to students all year round. It is generally a good idea to seek academic advice in one of the following circumstances: changing degrees, going on exchange, expecting to graduate, and failing of a core unit which causes delay to graduation.
Other academic related enquiries include:
- Concurrent degrees
- Exemptions (for students with advanced standing or going on exchange)
- COE (for international students' visa extension)
- Special approval (Waivers)
- Work experience insurance cover
- Academic referral, and
- Academic advice for students who failed to comply with university rules and policies
