Description:

The Bachelor of Business Administration is an interdisciplinary course which prepares you for a career in business management without specialisation in a particular subject area such as accounting or economics. The core program includes business, economics, finance, marketing, organisational behaviour and statistics.

In second and third year you choose a number of electives which may include accounting, business, business law, demography, economics, finance, human resource management, information systems, language, law, marketing, organisational psychology and operations research. As the course progresses there is flexibility to tailor your studies to suit your interests.

The Bachelor of Business Administration is a popular general management degree. It aims to train you to apply the skills acquired in business and public sector settings.

You will complete a major research project which provides an opportunity to integrate the knowledge and skills acquired in units you have undertaken. Each team decides on a project and an acceptable proposal that covers the topic, methodology, and the strategic plan. Through workshops and discussions you are taught to write a research paper on the topic of your choice. The experiences you will acquire while doing your business project assists you to make an appropriate successful transition to the next stage of your career.

Unique among the degrees offered by the Faculty, the Bachelor of Business Administration is very broadly based, both in the scope of its core units and in the range and flexibility of choices of electives. Its strengths lie in its flexibility of business subject choice and its attachment to double degree programs offered by the University.

The Bachelor of Business Administration enables you to experience many of the traditional components of the Master of Business Administration but at the undergraduate level. It is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in business management whilst leaving open the option of further specialisation.

Recommended Prior Knowledge:

You can take a unit in mathematics, as a first year subject, which has been tailored for those who don’t meet the assumed knowledge requirement.
